One of the last remaining original beech forests in Germany, shot on an early summer morning in Jasmund National Park on the island of Rügen.
I set out into Jasmund National Park before dawn to shoot the magnificent chalk cliffs that this Baltic Sea coastline is famous for. Yet I was almost more fascinated by the untouched beech forest that stretches all the way to the steep chalk cliffs and is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The straight trees and soft morning light made the scene picturesque. One of my favorite shots dates to 2017. The high quality of this large-format print really brings out the wealth of detail, which you can lose yourself in again and again.
