Berlin’s Museum Island, seen from an exclusive angle that shows the Berlin Cathedral gleaming in the early morning winter light.
Some shots require more planning and good timing than others. The sun comes up at just the right angle to bathe the Berlin Cathedral in a magical light only a few days a year. So, on a bitterly cold winter morning, I positioned myself on the banks of the Spree at the precisely calculated moment, ready to take the picture. But Berlin winters are capricious, and the sun doesn’t show itself often. So I returned again on the following two days to set up my tripod on the riverbank in the freezing cold. Then everything finally came together. I captured a rare sunny and peaceful winter morning in Berlin, with the Museum Island bathed in a very special light.
